Experian

Summary

Experian, the nation's leading credit bureau, used their corporate website primarily to provide information for visitors who searched for the company by name. Serving in a unique advisory/borrowed designer role, I delivered creatively charged ideas that would change the way they used the site for good. My ideas helped increase revenue immediately and enhanced a company synergy (their word, not mine) that continues to be successful today.

Role

Lead Designer employed by Experian Consumer Direct.

Challenge

Turn Experian's website, basically an online business card, into a money-making tool. The division I worked for mastered the business of marketing online products to consumers. Corporate offices asked us to merge this speciality with the unique needs of a global corporation. Their landing page had to do a lot!

Solutions

One of my first ideas, still being used, was to move the entire navigation to the right side of the page, an unconventional idea. This allowed the "prime real estate" to promote a consumer-related product. The next concept I proposed was the company-first product matrix. This allowed a slightly more sophisticated user, the kind that goes directly to a Credit Bureau's website, to quickly compare the products and make their choice with confidence. These new approaches, plus brand new designs, increased conversion immediately and Experian hasn't looked back since! Are you ready to move forward?
